Rita Mae Revisited

How the time flies...we've had Rita Mae for a couple of months now and that old cliche- I can't imagine life without her- is very appropriate. Our "old" routines have become obsolete, replaced by a schedule that revolves around playing ball, going for walks and of course the all important bathroom breaks (no backyard for us to fall back on, it's get on the shoes and head outside).

In a word Rita Mae is well, amazing. She is sweet, she is stubborn, she is insanely fast, loyal, focused, friendly, reticent at times, outgoing at others. Definitely not one dimensional this dog.

Like any "parent" (and I use this in the generally accepted broad definition in lieu of owner, which sounds both incorrect and incomplete) I worry about her getting hurt, I stress when she is being a pain and testing us, I laugh when she is happy and wags her tail, I smile when she blasts across the bark park leaving other dogs in the dust and I marvel at night when she is asleep that she is ours.

We've already taken a ton of photos of her, just a fraction of which have found their way onto our Flickr page.

No doubt there will be much more to come, you can see the last three posts have all been about her but for now, Meg and I are both just so very thankful to have Rita Mae in our lives.
